We know that most folks love him, and some folks don't. But Dr. Mehmet Oz does have a great way of boiling complex medical topics down to very simple ideas. And recently he applied this skill to Prebiotics.
On his doctoroz.com website he says:
"Probiotic bacteria are not normally found in the human intestine, so they often don't colonize well when they're introduced. Therefore, prebiotic foods are vital to encourage probiotic organisms to survive and thrive in the human gut,"*
We couldn't agree more!

For those know him only from his appearances on Oprah, you may not realize that Dr. Oz is far more than a "talking head." He is Vice-Chair and Professor of Surgery at Columbia University. He directs the Cardiovascular Institute and Complementary Medicine Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He has authored over 400 original publications, book chapters, and medical books and has received several patents.
We also like that he got his MD and MBA degrees here in our home-state of Pennsylvania! Plus, our CEO's brother works with him at Columbia-Presbyterian and says he's just a terribly nice guy!
*just for the record - we're not implying that Dr. Oz endorses Prebiotin. We're just sharing info he's put forth about prebiotics in general.
