Prebiotin™ Prebiotic Fiber Supplement Increases Bone Density

Printable Version | Email
Research indicates that oligofructose enriched inulin significantly increases calcium and magnesium absorption through the colon wall. This results in increased calcium within the bone, making bones stronger.

It is now known that bone density reaches its peak during the 20’s. After this age of peak bone strength, there is a gradual loss of bone over the years, averaging about 10% every decade.  This problem is worse for females because their bones are smaller to begin with and the loss of bone is greater with advancing age, genetics and menopause.

Medical researchers have shown that young teenagers who took our Prebiotin formula at a dose of 8 grams a day for a year had a 20% increase in bone density. This is a remarkable finding and, together with other efforts at osteoporosis prevention, promises to keep bone strength high. This is why it is so important for young people, especially girls, to achieve the very strongest bones possible during their adolescent growth spurt.
