Prebiotin™ Control Appetite and Weight

Printable Version  |  Email

It is a well-known fact that foods that contain large amounts of simple sugars, high fructose corn syrup and refined grains (white breads and rolls) do not really satisfy our hunger very well. Further, these foods produce signals in the nervous and hormone system in our brain, stomach, liver, pancreas and colon that say that our hunger is not satisfied. It can lead to obesity and diabetes.

On the other hand, complex carbohydrates as in whole grains, fresh vegetables and fruits, and certain prebiotic soluble dietary supplements act in a very different way. The body signals generated by these foods in the various organs mentioned above send different messages via the hormone and nerve pathways.

Not the least of these is the effect these foods have on our sense of hunger and fullness. Certain hormone proteins flow from the stomach and colon into the blood and then to the brain. They tell us when we have eaten enough. These particular foods fill and linger in the stomach longer. The end result is that appetite is suppressed and weight control is easier. Beyond that, obesity and diabetes may be less likely when whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and oligofructose enriched inulin, in our Prebiotin™ formula, are used.
